Discussion about
Who typically inhabits these? Would you buy right next to one? Also, since I have your attention, if a property sold for $5.3mn in 2007, what would it be worth today?

Is it still being used as an SRO? Many buildings have SRO designation but have had only one family living there for decades. SROs were originally occupied by single men and women who shared a bathroom on the occupied floor but not so many of them around as in the past.

Need more info to provide valuation guidence.

People who can't afford to live in class a units generally live in SROs (or on the street, which is the next step down). Most pay weekly; in cash. At the risk of being "classist," SROs are not desirable neighbors.

Chelsea seems to have a few of these. The building in question was recently sold with 14 of the 18 units vacant and letters of non harassment obtained from te rest. I am assuming they wish to convert to single family but don't know for sure.
