I have found in the majority of deals I do, listing brokers are more than happy to co-broke. Actually it has been my experience that they prefer it, even at the cost of a % of the commission. This is from a very senior broker at a big firm, thought some of you might find it interesting; "Thanks, you know -i'd rather do a co-broke then a direct. The owner wants to cut your commission to a cobroke commission-you do twice the work and its hard because you relate to both buyer and seller. With a cobroke- its so much easier- and hey-you have to do the board package!" http://ubivoletaudentunicornium.blogspot.com/ (link to my original post on this subject) This in response to an email I sent letting an agent know that a buyer whom had contacted her directly about a listing, had now engaged me as their "Buyer-broker". I know this often comes up on the boards, certainly this is just one example and not the only opinion. [less]
Well, I think the idea that a seller's broker sits around and eats bon-bons while the buyer's broker does the board package is a little utopian -- when we are hired by a seller to sell an apartment, we sell it, and that means bringing whichever buyer's broker is involved in the equation up to our board standards.
I'm not alone in this -- last couple deals where I've been a buyer's broker, the seller's broker has been involved in the package.
That said, yes, as a seller's broker, I'd generally rather co-broke with a good buyer's broker, because it takes the work of keeping the clients focused on the target property off my shoulders.
Keith I think I have a UWS 4-BR possibly coming on market in the next couple months, maybe then we can do our first deal together.

You fkinng self serving pos Borker. Lazy lazy lazy.
Why waste time on the this question?
The question is relevant because there are a number of posts on this board by buyers who feel they have a leg up without representation, because the listing broker will give the direct buyer preference.
There may be a number of reason a buyer prefers to be un-represented by a broker, I don't think preferential treatment by the listing broker is one of them (in the majority of cases).
I've tried to address some of the others with our business model.
