This is not surprising.
Bill,
It's not surprising, and jason10006 mentioned last year bulldozing in California.
Even if a well maintained home is left empty for a year it's going to deteriorate. When I was in Sarasota earlier this year and saw all the forclosed empties, I figured in that area the lot would be worth more than the decomposing structure. At least when people start building homes again, they will have many lots in good areas to choose from. Whenever that will be.
Bill,
Thank you for your insight!
mutombonyc; Thank you for your subtle, yet well appreciated postings of late to keep us back on track. I value that.
Bill,
I'm smiling from ear to ear! I'm not the person they make me out to be.
LOL! Just keep up the good work.
LOL! Silly! Will do, pops!
In some cases it's very good for the city. Making the city smaller cuts down on sanitation and police routes and saves the tax payers money. I believe this is going on in Michigan.
Truth,
You are too funny; LOL! I have to check out Melt before the estival end.
Stay happy, mutombo!
LOL...You too!

Which is a great argument for mortgage modification. The highest and best use of a house is generally its current owner.
Right H, Loan modification would have saved money and time. Now I know why this was implemented. The trouble is that nobody addressed anything or signed off soon enough for modification. Of those that I know of who tried for it, only one got it after being dragged through the ringer. And, what about those seminars around the country that are to help people fix their mortgage? I know one person who wasted two weekends in Miami and nothing was accomplished. When she called the number as instructed the following Monday after the seminar, she got the run around. In this case, when someone is not a quitter by nature, they have to learn to cut their losses for sanity sake.
"I don't know how so many other people figured out for themselves not to buy ; without them."
i have to disagree with your reasoning here, truth. they influenced me too. nothing wrong with giving credit where credit is due. the bear dream team made an excellent and comprehensive case at the time. and with all ar's problems, i will still readily and gladly admit to respecting her opinion on most things, even if i disagree. she's no dummy, she's just impulsive. there are worse things.
