Discussion about
We just moved into the top floor of a building - and our water pressure is terrible. this does not seem to be true of other floors in the building. from what i could understand from the handyman - it has something to do with the pumps being on the floor below us? has anyone ever heard of such a thing and what can be done?

Best to shower after 9am after all of the other floors have finished with their morning showers, etc. and have gone to work but before the housekeepers show up and start the washing machines and dishwashers.

You can take the restrictors out of your shower head. What kind do you have? I would buy a speakmam shower head. Not the nicest but for pressure it is the best

I suspect appearances are important here, in case the neighbor shows up.

It is common for higher-floor units in older buildings to have lower water pressure. Not much can be done (without redoing the entire building's plumbing system) though as Primer says, removing any restrictors in faucets and shower heads will help a bit. Definitely do not go with rain shower heads--they will piddle pitifully in a lower-pressure situation. I second the speakerman (or similar) for a more concentrated stream.
