Discussion about
Can someone please recommend a good insurance company or broker for condo coverage? thanks
You can use a service provider on the net like insureme dot com to do comparison shopping. I don't work or have any affiliation with them. For myself, I went through work, marsh through travelers to get a policy that the mortgage company was ok with. Living in a flood zone and a new building can be complicated.
Try State Farm. There rates seem pretty good.
Chubb is outstanding, and you pay for it. A good resource is Todd Rockefeller, who reps several good firms, including Chubb. His e-mail is trockefeller@drsw.com
One key question, I think, is whether you're getting insurance for your own peace of mind or because a third party (usually a lender) requires it. The answer will probably help you choose the right carrier.
Clients swear by Chubb. It will cost you a little more but if you need to file a claim you will not be begging them for a check.
