any tips on how to start one of these. i'm interested in forming a LLC to buy foreclosures.

Start by googling llc and "operating agreement", which lead to other things.

There're vendors for the forms kit, NYS filing and public notices. That shouldn't run you much more than $500.

the llc part is easy--it's the terms of the partnership which can get complicated

If you want to distinguish yourself from the pack, have some real Real Estate experience first.
