Discussion about
Eat That parasites. Romney is repugnant.

" there are two choices in life: get older or...."
this is something old people say
according to you people who serve in the military are proud americans with many other career choices. this does not sound like a recipe for suicide. according to you, we are somehow winning some war? not at all sure what you could possibly have meant by that.
and yes if our military has an impossible mission that should definitely influence our foreign policy.
and by the way...you never answered whether or not you are willing to fight and send your kids when they are of age. please enlighten us.

do you ever deal in facts? you have no idea how old i am so how could you possibly know that you are younger?
I think there are significantly sufficient clues that can be put together to triangulate, including a rather important one just above on this thread. But if you are so upset that we might be assuming you are old if you aren't, why don't you tell us your age?
so brooks...how many missions did you fly? what aircraft?
"you never answered whether or not you are willing to fight and send your kids when they are of age."
im a girl, i don't have to fight. and i have daughters.
so...can we conclude that the answer is no?
and by the way....who is now being condescending?
he could know people who were drafted even if he isn't old enough to have been drafted himself
A6s fuckface and enough missions to get an air medal so shut the fk up and stop sounding like u know it all
what do you think about people who are willing to send other people to fight and die for them but aren't willing to do it themselves?
do you, like, understand the premise of a military and its role?
So many missions that you can't count them or won't tell us?
My experience of ex military is that they don't brag or shoot their mouth's off like you.
i understand the role of a citizen military. i don't understand the role of a volunteer (mercenary) military.

You want to know all that about Brooks2, but yet you won't even acknowledge that you are old?
i'm not bragging.
he is answering your questions, he isn't bragging. you were asking him pointed repeated questions. remember?
really?
apparently you don't know any ex military.
they don't bring it up. they don't talk about it.
they don't use it.

i'm not bragging.
indeed, perhaps there's nothing for you to brag about?
" i don't understand the role of a volunteer (mercenary) military."
can you try harder? it's not that complicated
but...still wondering about the suicides. not to worry? their problem?
True but in this case I could not hold back, plus is this board not anonymous ? U have no idea who u r talking to just like Steve!
bullshit.
it's a military problem and the military is addressing it. they don't want my nose in their business any more than i care to stick it there.

Sounds like you have a LONG history of knowing what ex-military do.
so...now you know nothing?
perfect.
you've sold me.
poor sad pathetic columbiacounty. So sad. But not bitter. Just sad.
one of us should cry for him
Btw more than 20 successful combat missions or more that 150 combat flight hours gets u an air medal. Yes I cleared that
So sad columbiacounty. So sad
no response.
no surprise.
and as far as the braggart goes.
hilarious.
so sad
:(
soviet union is a socialist (at least closed to socialist) nation, so they care about peace and justice and people. Thus they won't use nuclear weapon for real, they just wanna protect their people from our nuclear blackmail. we are the only fascism country ever used nuclear weapon to genocide innocent japanese civilians.
Incoming from the Stand Up For Heroes/ Wounded Warrior Project:
This benefit isn't taking place because the vets get enough care and consideration upon
return to the USA.
They are reading this discussion and they certainly know why there are suicides.
But, back to the benefit.
I brought in a good supply of tissues in case Chris Christie shows up and hugs it out with Bruce again.
Another hour and a half to go.
"Incoming from the Stand Up For Heroes/ Wounded Warrior Project"
just signed up to volunteer with them. thanx truth.
It was a great show, lucille.
Brooks: If true, I have a new-found respect for you.
While CC has not been exactly kind to me, I do not enjoy watching others run circles around him.
CC, I used to feel as you appear to - wanting a mandatory draft so that everyone with a loved one of a certain age would have to think seriously about whether they would support any given war. However, I have spoken to a number of military personnel, active and retired, ranging from one well-known General to a number of mid-rank officers, as well as a few active and retired enlisted men, and I have not found a single one of them who wants the draft reinstated. Moreover, more than one has voiced frustration at the perception that only those without better opportunities choose the military as a career. Finally, we have a family friend who returned from Irag to find his wife had taken up with another and he had no job; his PTSD is real, and his siblings who want to take care of him cannot have him in the house near their children. He has attempted suicide. There are many working to address this very real problem, and I don't pretend to know what the answer is, but I do not think a moratorium on war will ever be feasible.
Brooks2 - I knew I liked you.
Lucillebluth - You are a great advocate for your positions; were you a debater? I absolutely love reading your posts.
Truth - I am glad you can post in peace again.
Huntersburg - So glad you reappeared. I finally figured out who you remind me of, and if the profile fits, I would not be surprised to learn that in the light of day your name is Michael Smith.

Draft promoters are more interested in some happy happy social justice than in actually having a strong national defense.
>Huntersburg - So glad you reappeared. I finally figured out who you remind me of, and if the profile fits, I would not be surprised to learn that in the light of day your name is Michael Smith.
I changed the spelling to Mychael Smyth.
Thanks NYCNovice.
The name Patti Smith was already taken.
Smyth is O.K. but no Patti Smith.
thank you NYCNovice. i was never a debater. i just like to argue.
Lets ask the people who didn't have electricity for over a week how they feel about the trillions of dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I see the connection, if we didn't have troops in Afghanistan, then we would have more electricity this week.
are you really that stupid or do you just like to get the reaction?
huntersburg: He's a holdover of the now defunct bully gang.
Comments only for the sake of trying to get a response.
how would you know?
you have never read what i say or said.
right?
FWIW...
do you see the connection between trillions spent in Afghanistan and irag and not spent for infrastructure?

I am definitely far from stupid. I might not be the smartest poster on this site, but I am in the top 10%.
so you said it for the reaction?
those military fuckers in Afghanistan and iraq have tons of brand-new unopened generators and spared oil that can power 10 times as many as NY/NJ/CT people who lost their homes
caonima and columbiacounty seem to be getting along recently.
huntersburg: I read caonima and his English is improving.
"Lets ask the people who didn't have electricity for over a week how they feel about the trillions of dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. "
so....youre saying this is a FEDERAL failure?
"but I am in the top 10%"
now you're just fishing for compliments. 1%
"those military fuckers in Afghanistan and iraq have tons of brand-new unopened generators and spared oil that can power 10 times as many as NY/NJ/CT people who lost their homes"
how would these get ashore? slingshots?
Agree with Lucille re state v federal and re Huntersburg's intelligence (and the fishing for compliments :-)
so...according to the two of you, there is no federal money in infrastructure?
if only our government was designed in a way that designated one individual as the (symbolic) head of all federal agencies. well, such a person would surely not rest until he or she had exhausted all the powers in their (limited) capacity to bring immediate help to those in need. they could never be accused of not caring about.....victims of natural disasters with female names. never.

I didn't read that anywhere, but I guess if you are columbiacounty, don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
I'm just wodering why, if Brooks was a pilot and all that, he would ever get so upset
about overpriced RE listings.
*wondering*
oh yes...wonder away. mr air medal nitpicking RE listings? or is it mrs air medal? or....could it be someone closer to home?
I guess that logic makes sense. If you fly an airplane, then the price of real estate is irrelevant.
how many ponies?
hunterburg:
It's not irrelevant.
It's just that Brooks was freaking out when he first appeared posting on se
about overpricd RE listings.
Combat pilots (even former combat pilots) wouldn't freak out about that, they have nerves of steel.
So, I'm still wondering.
hunterSburg
overpriced
So you see, my dear huntersburg:
I know former air force fighter pilots.
They watch the History Channel.
They have reunions with other retired pilots. They are into aviation.
They aren't on streeteasy posting comments and starting discussions about overpriced RE listings.
Maybe I'm not as intelligent as you, huntersburg, but I'm very smart.
huntersburg is suddenly gone.
Maybe he's stuck in the bathroom or something.
Whoever Brooks is, he's not a retired Air Force pilot.
I don't have to be in the top 10% of intelligent posters on streeteasy to figure that out.
NYCNovice: You're a real attorney and you fell for it without question.
MYSTERY SOLVED!
Brooks departed last night on a round-the-world solo flight.
He's going down on a remote island in the Pacific a la Amelia, never to be heard from again.
Stevie will be here with us after he has his cornflakes and orange juice.
Stevie is going to be sooo happy!
“how would these get ashore? slingshots?”
these should never been shipped offshore, neither did our once-innocent soldiers
So now soldiers are guilty? Of what?
truth, go fvck yourself, they became war criminals now. wish you and your family born in afghanistan or iraq
caonima Engish get better all time.
thanks, the first time i'm so proud of being an american

>no, yikes, you cannot make up the absurdity of nytimes reporting on events of 11 years ago, continuing to demonize bush and actually MISSING, in real time, the obama administration dropping the ball on another terrorist attack. which happened literally the day after this went to press. or was it already happening? i don't know the time difference between ny and bengazi. The Deafness Before the Storm, indeed.
