how did they get the mortgage without her signing it? this can be a few yrs behind bars for sure.

Have her call the lender. If the brother is not the owner of the house, the bank has a huge problem with its lien. They will be interested in getting this addressed.

Ok guys .. this is the correct version. The house is under his name and his credit was terrible so his sister took out a loan against the house in her name for him. But then a few years later since he had her ID and copies of her SS the brother took out another loan 500k using his wife forging FOR HIS SISTER. SHE NEVER SIGNED A SECOND LOAN ! Thats her problem right now.

I do not see why the bank would do anything until they know that it indeed was a fraud. To me I do not see why she does not go to the police and report the crime to get it into the system.

There was an article in the papers recently about a woman who had her identity stolen for almost two decades and at first they believed the woman who stole her identity. Either way it tooks years and years to undo what was done and get debt that was not really hers removed.

Unless she really loves her brother and she is okay that she stole money from her since even though it was not cash in her bank, it is cash she is on the hook for, she needs to report a crime.

@Mikev ... the sister did help out the brother for the first loan but never authorized the second loan for 500K. The dude is soooo arrogant telling her she can't do shit about it. I hate scumbags like that. His sister is a good hearted church going woman and doesn't deserve this.

Wait, the sister is aware of her brother doing this? Why can't she go to the bank and report it and contact the DA?
