Discussion about
What are the best websites for kitchen appliances which actually show prices for the products? Most of the sites out there give details about products but say to call store for price. I did that a couple of times & was put on hold forever.... Thoughts? recommendations??
Sears.com is good for benchmarking, because they carry so many makes and models. If you're actually ordering from Sears and want the best possible price, you might have to lurk until the stars align on the item you want.
We got lucky on a recent refrigerator order: a "Midnight Madness" free delivery promotion kicked in at 8 p.m., so it overlapped briefly with a sale price that was scheduled to expire at midnight. Then I stacked a coupon from Retailmenot.com on top of the other discounts. Maybe the deal wasn't as good as I think it was, but I couldn't find a better all-in price.
The problem with short-term discounts, free-delivery promotions, coupons, etc. is that they make comparison shopping quite complicated.
Try AJ Madison and PC Richard
Agree ewith jason... also try home depot
I have an unopened 24 inch range hood if you're interested. I am going to return it to AJ Madison, at a 25% restocking fee. Let me know if you;re interested :)
Thx everyone!
@SBK2011 - Who is the manufacturer? Thx!
Consumer reports has prices and is really great if you are making some bigger purchases. Think a year is $30 or something.
I could never recommend buying from Sears at this point in their sad devolution. We bought all our appliances from Sears for 35 years and never had a complaint. Our last purchase (6 years ago)for four major kitchen appliances was an unmitigated disaster. We were supposed to get a 40% rebate. We sent in the forms by certified mail with a green card. Sears never applied the rebate and billed us for the full price. No amount of talking to Sears customer service reps did any good. Four months after the purchase, without telling us, they put our account in collections even though we had formally disputed it. We have been through the mill with Sears, Citibank and LVNV Holdings (and what a corrupt company that is!) After a 3-year fight, they lost the battle but it was a gigantic waste of time and energy for us. We bought a snowblower from Sears right before our final appliance purchase and Sears has never honored the service agreement on the snowblower. Sears is going down the tubes and I don't advise going down with it.
We bought our last two appliances from Home Depot. We got a great price, free delivery on time, free installation and free haulaway of the old appliances.
AJ Madison and BestBuy websites are good for comparing prices and features. It's fun to read the threads on GardenWeb's kitchen forum and appliance forum before making a decision.

Thx for offering SBK2011; however, not what I'm looking for. Need one with that is more angular, to go with over all aesthetic.
btw those recs were for search, but ultimately I ended up buying everything at Drimmers. Was pretty painless. Delays with one item but they offered an extended warranty to compensate.
Another source is Curto's in Yonkers. We recently bought the big three from them: refrigerator, gas range and dishwasher and got as good a price as we could find anywhere. Price essentially matched AJ Madison but the delivery costs were much less. Plus the customer service was fabulous.
I've always bought appliances from Goedeker's, http://www.goedekers.com/
Very easy and simple, not to mention amazing deals!
Got a great deal on a freezer a few months back...
