Discussion about Forte at 230 Ashland Place in Fort Greene
Won't the value of the units in the Forte be diminished because within a year or so it will be facing three to four huge construction sites? The noise, the dirt, the disruption and needless to say those forever disappearing views. Instead of looking at the Verazzano Bridge soon there is a good chance you'll be looking into some ones unit and they into yours. Doesn't that change everything for the value of a unit in that building?
No, the area is super hot, hence drawing new construction on a regular basis. New construction brings more retail, restaurants, etc making quality of life even better. There's literally no downside considering there are already tons of condo towers in the area.
DO NOT BUY HERE!!! I did and I totally regret it. This is worse then any co-op. The condo rules are off the charts and the fees unfathomable! Seriously ask any broker or anyone who has ever lived here - it is insane!
I do not know what the above post is complaining about. The condo rules are very standard, and fees are on par with full service Brooklyn condos (meaning less than Manhattan condos).
I bought here and am extremely happy with both the building and immediate neighborhood (as well as access to subways and surrounding neighborhoods).
