Don't be catty. That's cat boy's job.

Doesn't SE show that info in the upper-right forget of the building's page?

Yes it does but that is hardly accurate... I was hoping for a real build year.

I already checked the DOB which doesn't tell such things. I was asking for something more detailed. In any event you need to pull the original construction records which are databased online via a historic archive. Trouble is, they often didn't use addresses 100 or so years ago.... instead they would measure how many feet it was from the avenues and list it that way. But I found it. It was built in 1901. Streeteasy's listing for the building says 1930. The selling broker said 1905, then in person said 1910. There are also listings that say 1913 and 1907. There is not a single piece of supporting documentation that I could find, and I checked at least 100 sources, that list ANY of these dates in any form at all. In other words, brokers, as usual, are just making it up as they go along. How, ummm....gracious.

Guywithcat,
Thanks for the interesting information. I assume you tried NWT's resource that he mentioned here?:

Like he said, very old buildings are most likely inaccurate. But yes, the "when built" seems to be something that most people guess about. Any particular reason why you are looking for an exact date? Regardless, thanks!

There is what looks to be an original plaque engraved into a wall in my building that says 1897. If you look around in the 1901 building there might be something like that in yours as well? I think my building says 1901 online.
