I saw an apartment there and a tenant said between the new water tanks AND the 2nd Avenue subway she wears earplugs in her apartment. The entire blocked is ripped up from 2nd to 3rd Avenue and she said rats are everywhere at night and has seen rodents even in the day. She's trying to get out of her lease.

is this still a problem?

The road construction itself seems to be dying down, but this is a tremendously noisy building. The metal plates on the street still bounce everytime a car. or truck goes by --- so. you can. imagine... I believe management will allow you to install second windows to diminish sound, but that's at your expense as a tenant, and obviously you can't take those with you when you leave. The honking of trucks and vehicles coming off the Queensborough bridge goes on 24/7 and it appears noone will do anything to try to diminish it -- there is zero noise ordinance enforcement. Check out the noise complaint level on addressreport.com.... wish we had when we were new to town..... There is also still construction going on in the lobby of the adjacent building with jackhammers that carry through, and the city is storing construction machinery for the trunk project out in front of the building.....
