Discussion about 230 West End Avenue in Lincoln Square
Prospective buyer beware. If you do your checking, the units that are for sale in this building were all 'in contract' two months ago. Strange pattern. We tried to buy a unit in this building in September. Had impeccable references, sold financials and were rejected. Before that, the seller told us two other sales offers on our unit had fallen through. I'd be very careful about wasting your time, your money and your enthusiasm.
fusion345,
the only thing I can think of is that the building may have gotten "burned" a few years ago during the banking fiasco. When I first looked at this building there were some very cheap units. The maint was high, in my opinion, but 1BRs in a prewar doorman building with some sort of view for just over 200K? Don't know the exact legal terminology, but seems that some of these units were short sales or bank-owned, and maybe somehow the building was left without a chair when the music stopped. Hence more caution, maybe?
