Is a renter who rents from a foreign LLC shell in a better position if a dispute is caused vis-à-vis a domestic entity with clear ownership?

Well, if the tide starts to roll, it will sweep them all. And that includes the $500k co-op studios ('cause it just ain't right).
Looks like I picked the wrong time to start looking for a Manhattan condo. Will have to sit this one out for a couple of years.
