The management company is generally quite poor and unresponsive, but now that I'm former tenant the problem has only gotten worse. After not getting by security deposit returned after 45 days I contacted the management company repeatedly via email and phone to find what the holdup was, and got no response back. After several weeks I finally got a reply, and i was requested to provide proof that I've closed my ConEd account and have paid my balance with them in full. This seemed strange, as I'd never heard of this before from a landlord, and if they wanted any such proof they should have told me when I actually vacated the apartment. Nonetheless to expedite the situation I complied by giving copies of my final bill and a confirmation letter from ConEd that my account was closed and in good standing. Since that point I've repeatedly been told that they will expedite the return of the deposit, but never follow through. It's now 90 days since I've moved out and they are still refusing to return the check. [less]
