Discussion about
We need to replace our kitchen cabinets because we are putting in a fridge and freezer (two units) and removing the current fridge. This will mean removing and replacing certain cabinets and having a cabinet maker try to match them to what is there. This will cost a few thousand. If we install all new cabinets in foil (synthetic) from someone whose work we have seen, it will cost us very little more. The cabinets are very high quality and the person in question doesn't do wood cabinets. This is for a Manhattan condo. Will it greatly decrease the resale value if the cabinets are not wood? Please advise.

Don't use the foil. I had to replace all the doors of my cabinet because the foil peeled. A lot of people in the building had the same guy install them around the same time. We all had the same problem.

In regards to Ikea, I have designed, customized and installed Ikea cabinets in all different types of apartments. The last apartment was sold for over 5 Million. I do not care what anyone else tells you, you should go with IKEA.
