Anybody know what is going on here?
I had the same question/issue. I don't know why they would remove such a useful resource. Can still do a recorded sale search through "Comparable Reports" but it's less detailed (showing closing dates) and seems to not list sales in chronological order - and limits number of sales to 100 instead of actual total sales in time-frame. They just made my recorded sale searches 10x more difficult and less productive. PLEASE BRING BACK RECORDED SALES TAB!!!
It might be just down for maintenance. I was trying to use it last week and it was there and producing results, but the search was completely broken.
Still no word from SE ???,
A lot of changes. They are not updating streeteasy condo index either.
This is crazy. I guess I will have to use Property Shark.... Zillow has taken a valuable Real Estate tool and is making it into a Mickey Mouse System..what a shame....
Forum discussions search tab isn't working anymore either. Lets face it the original site was a boon to individual buyers/renters and was catastrophic for brokers and brokerage houses.
I always felt zillow's purchase was to kill this thing off.
The setting is ripe for the original crew ( hello Michael Smith) to remake a new streeteasy and eventually sell it to maybe someone like the New York Times or someone.
BTW, I would have thought by now Zillow would have come up with a proper (nyc) algorithm for their "zestimate " feature. It is worse than ever.
I guess when they stopped doing the paid "insider" memberships, users stopped being the customer and became the thing being sold.
I received this answer from my email......
Upon further review, the Recorded Sales search was a rarely used feature and has been removed from StreetEasy. This does not mean StreetEasy is deleting or removing recorded sales information. All of the same information will still be accessible via StreetEasy and surfaced in the same manner – on listing/unit pages, building pages. Also, agents can still search for past recorded sales via generating comparable reports available on closed listing pages. This will be a much more efficient way for agents to find relevant comps to share with their clients. This resources can be found from Resources > Comparables Reports.

Such a horrible decision - I exported all the time until recently when the excel functions were all messed up. I think they discontinued it because they couldn't figure out how to properly export the formulas.
Worst decision ever!
And I assume the search word feature for forums is rarely used too?
absurd
Obviously StreetEasy doesn't know who their users are. There are tons of appraisers, bankers, and people involved in the mortgage process that also use StreetEasy besides just "Agents" and their clients. Interesting that is was a rarely used feature according to SE considering I used the Recorded Sales Tab everyday along with many brokers that I know. The "Comparable Report" feature is horrible compared to the "Recorded Sales" tab and is limited up to 100 sales - regardless of the time-frame - rather than actual number of sales. Also, the sales are not presented in chronological order. Agreed - that this is the worst decision ever! The service is becoming less and less useful to industry professionals and is being dummied-down for the general public - who is also more sophisticated than Zillow understands. THIS IS NEW YORK!
That is too bad. I guess it is back to ACRIS when I want to snoop my friends and enemies by party name....
>sippelmc - >LOL!! too true! ACRIS will just be too much trouble
Matt Baren - please put the feature back.
Such a terrible decision. Perhaps not all members used it, but a core group loved the tool. It's not like you need to prominently feature the tool on the landing page. Bring it back...
Just went to do a recorded sale search and am very upset to see it has been removed. I can't believe it was as rarely use as they claim to justify its removal. I used it all the time, but hadn't in the last few weeks because summer. And post-zillow Streeteasy takes another sad step towards uselessness...
Try Urbandigs, easy to find that information there.
Ugh......all downhill from here.
