That's a great question. It sure doesn't seem like anything's changed by looking at the current listing photos. I recall there was a 'Selling New York' episode about it and the owner seemed completely out of touch with the real value of the property. It was in terrible shape and needed a full renovation (I saw it in person and while gorgeous it was clear the place was crumbling and required major work).

Would not be surprised if a deal never happened given how stubbornly the seller was clinging to aspirational pricing. And if no work was done between then and now he's even further off base...

The last recorded deed transfer I see is from 2000.

Huh. So same owner, same dilapidated structure but now asking $5M +? Is he insane??
