Discussion about
Was just looking at floorplans at 10 Leonard (for example: https://streeteasy.com/building/108-leonard/10g), and was wondering what possesses developers to add the details of the herringbone floor to the drawing)? Makes the plan more unreadable, and adds no really useful information. I've always disliked when furniture icons are added, though if done honestly you do get a sense of how the room will work, but adding herringbone patterns is just obfuscatory.
Herringbone floors are expensive (say $10-15 per sq ft extra) and I am guessing the developer is trying to convey that. In addition, showing floor pattern and furniture gives the floor-plan a little more life. It does make it harder to read dimensions.
Actually it's showing Chevron floors not herringbone.
Good catch, 30rs... design geeks unite! So odd by the way that the chevron is also shown in the bathroom...
I think bathroom is certainly a mistake. If actually chevron (thanks for the catch 30), it will look very strange even if Stone.
I mean floor plan mistake rather than design.
