Discussion about The Carlton Regency at 137 East 36th Street in Murray Hill
Does anyone know anything about this building? The maintenance is high for what it is and the presentation is slick ("attentive staff") but when we looked at a place last month, there was no doorman on duty on the way in or out, and I am pretty sure we overheard a resident complaining to the concierge that the doorman "is always in the bathroom." We'd like to have a family and I would be relying on someone to help me up the steps with a stroller. We do like the location though.

Lived there many years ago, 2br/2 1/2 bath duplex. Almost tried to combine 2 apartments for more space, but thankfully couldn’t.
Liked the building and thought service was very good. The addition of a roof deck and gym, which were not there when I lived there, makes it even more attractive
The D lines are really special spaces. They are all listed as one bedrooms, but actually appear to be
alcove studios with walls added at the obvious place to create a real bedroom. They have so many windows and truly spectacular views, dead-on of the Empire State building and many other landmarks. I could really see myself living in one, even though I always swore I could never live in anything other than a prewar!!!!
