The New York Sun ran an article this weekend with images of the eagerly awaited Herzog & de Meuron's 56 Leonard St. http://www.nysun.com/arts/fantastical-form-in-tribeca-herzog-de-meurons-56/85827 It looks pretty amazing.

And another one to try and explain why Alexico thinks it's a good idea.

Which it is (a good idea)!

on another note, today's news: 14:35 KSW KSW Inc discloses that it was directed not to perform any further work on the 56 Leonard Street Project (3.91 +0.03)

Co discloses that its subsidiary was notified by the construction manager on the 56 Leonard Street Project in downtown Manhattan, that they had been notified by the owner that the Project has been placed on hold. Co was directed not to perform any further work until further notice. The HVAC contract for the Project is ~$24 mln, and was included in the co's previously reported backlog. At the present time, co has no information as to if and when work on the Project will resume.

56 Leonard is going to be the 15 CPW of Tribeca. Amazing architectural design.

56 Leonard is innately attractive. From the outside. 56 Leonard's residential units fail to exceed the most basic expectations. On the other hand, the common spaces throughout the building, including the library and lounge areas, demonstrate excellent design and are for the most part quite impressive. Such spaces extend the dialogue that 56 Leonard initiates with its glossy "shanty town" exterior facade, a debate about luxury and a controversy about the domestic experience. A show-stopping discussion piece 56 Leonard undoubtedly is. But an amazing place to live? That's yet to be seen.

I'm not a fan of most new construction, but 56 Leonard is off the charts fantastic and so much better than 40 Bond...

Prices are a little high, don't see much demand for it now, I'm not a fan of most new construction, PLZ who are you kidding. Now is the time to buy at 56 Leonard Street. Buy now at 56 Leonard Street or be priced out forever. Go to the Sales opps Rent Office at 56 Leonard Street and catch that falling knife they are selling.
