http://dumbonyc.com/images/blog/flickr_lowerManhattan_eight_double.jpg Look at all that nasty brown concrete and projects in lower east side. YUCK! http://www.chicagoinfocenter.com/chicago_aerial600x800.jpg Now, this is what a world-class city looks like. This area of Chicago has no housing projects, you have the beautiful lake michigan, and teh architecture is diverse and interesting, while NYC's is dull and ugly.

Yet they can't get anyone to live there. BTW, the Trump project is about to go bankrupt. Could get anyone to live in Chicago, I guess.

MAN, Chicago must really suck ass...

I'm sorry, Cracker Boy, but the Manhattan photo blows away the Cleveland one. And what are those 1970s buildings in the foreground of the latter photo, if not housing projects? Penitentiaries?

> even you must admit that Chicago is a lot nicer.

Based on the fact that few people live there, fewer people take pictures of it, people put fewer pictures of it on their wall, fewer people put it in tv shows, movies, bla bla bla.

Is rufus actually trying to claim that the 3rd tier city on a LAKE has a better skyline than Manhattan!

Wow, somebody must have stolen Rufus' meds...

I think I counted maybe 25 tall buildings in Chicago. Rufie where are all the luxury hi-rises you keep talking about? And why are the tall buildings spread out with huge gaps in the middle like your mother's teeth, instead of put close together like a real city?

"like your mother's teeth" yuk yuk yuk (eeewww)

But seriously, Cracker Boy's mother doesn't have any teeth. Ravages of crack.

i believe crystal meth is the drug of choice for white trash (rufie's outwardly racist comments suggest to me he falls in this bucket), but point taken

The cleveland crack is right on. At least that thing has some notable buildings... the triangle thingy and all that.

BTW, isn't living on a lake like for summer camp and vacation bungalows?

Cracker Boy, settle this disagreement . . . is your mother a crackhead or just a crystal meth fiend?

living in a highrise condo next to lake michigan is more desirable and more prestigious than living in an old building in upper east side, tribeca, gramercy, or soho.

- according to a gallup poll of crackheads and crystal meth fiends

last time I checked, desirable and prestigious don't go with "cheap" or, well, "Chicago".

Hell, even Obama spent years trying to get out of Chicago. When a person takes their kids out of your school to go to schools in DC, you KNOW your schools are bad.

Obama left NYC to move to Chicago, dumbass. obviously he now has to move to DC since he's about to become president.

it's interesting that all of you guys admit that the picture of Chicago is better than NYC.

Umm ... pretty sure nobody admitted that .. my comment was more along the lines of "why are there so many vacant lots or 1 story buildings in the middle of downtown." also, you have lake, then miles and miles of flat, booring farmland, as supposed to tons of waterways and the OCEAN. Hmm ... tough choice ..

Also, how do you feel living in a city that is ranked as one of the fattest cities? I guess you're right, Chicago is a good "eating" town if you like hot dogs and deep dish pizza ...

Yes, putz, we covered this earlier. He moved to Chicago to be a poverty worker. He needed to find the city with the most poverty and trouble and people who needed help, and he seems to have found it.

Unfortunately, he didn't make it to your house.

Interesting that Rufus has moved from to illiteracy to stupidity to just outright lying...

yes, I'm sure his "reading comprehension" performance on the SAT- if he even got so far as to take it - was pretty low.

Rufie, you still won't answer the question of what Chicago has besides these 3 restaurants. Yes, they are good restaurants, but NYC has more of these types of establishments PLUS hundreds of great places to eat at every day. But don't worry, Rufie, I get it. The reality is, of course, you just can't get the same fresh ingredients in the midwest. Seafood obviously out - unless you want to pay for it to be flown, which explains why Chicago has 3 great restaurants, and then, well, deep dish pizza. But even for other stuff, everybody knows the Midwest has crappy farmland and that the nation's best farmland is probably in PA. The only reason farming is cenetered in the Midwest is because land is cheap.

Please, though, answer our questions.

1) Name some other restaurants in Chicago except for the 3 you just mentioned
2) What do you do for a living / from what job were you recentely fired
3) Prove you live in NYC - name some grocery stores on UWS (where you supposedly live) and tell us which way 6th avenue runs and whether this past weekend it rained on Saturday or Sunday
4) Is your mother a crystal meth fiend or a crack addict?

i've given names of countless chicago restaurants and nightclubs in this board, and yet you guys have failed to mention a single "upscale" NYC establishment. So I'm done naming places for now since you guys are unable to address my points.

Here's a clue for you, while people in the suburbs of Chicago use the phrase "upscale restaurants", people in NYC don't.

You seem to be very impressed by large hi-rise towers and are constantly talking about large arhcitecture. Are you compensating for a "shortness" in some other area? It's a common trait of name-droppers and people fascinated with phallic buildings.

I'm just saying...maybe that's why you have so much trouble scoring with the ladies.

waverly, standard protocol when addressing Cracker Boy's near-explicit Freudian shortcomings is to also ask why he wants to live in a neighborhood that's near the area referred to in the Chicago dialect as "Boystown".

"not a chance. the only NYC restaurants that are better than the ones i mentioned are per se, le bernardin, daniel, and masa."

Arguably THE guide that defines upscale dining, the 2009 Michelin Guide has 4 NYC restaurants with 3 stars (Per Se, Jean Georges, Masa, Le Bernardin); 7 others have 2 stars; and about 30 with 1 star.

http://www.hotel-online.com/News/PR2008_4th/Oct08_MichelinNYC.html

How does Chicago rate? - wait, there is NO guide for Chicago yet. The first city the guide covered outside of Europe back in 2005 was NYC. Since then, they added restuarants in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, even Las Vegas - but where is Chicago??? Why did they decide to cover LV ahead of Chicago?? Hmmm....
