Nah, I think people here are mostly respectful and civilized, and which I expect cuz people here are supposedly educated. There are only few folks who seem immature but then once in a while they provide some kind of entertainment. :)

I think having a moderator look in ever now & then would be good. From what I've seen, posts seem rather civil today but, I think some posters have been ugly & obnoxious during the past few weeks.

Besides marking all the posts, I just emailed Matt and asked him to block mitch2 & his IP address. It takes some time for them to get around to doing it, but they will.

i vote yea. but in this economy, nobody is going to hire a moderator to police the unpoliceable. I have another idea. Limit the number of responses and length (sorry stevejhx). This is entirely programmable and would provide incentives to make one's responses brief, presumably intelligent, and might reduce the unneccessary lengths of some of these threads. In my stocking this Christmas, streeteasy could also add a filter htat would automaticaly remove any reference to Chicago. a guy can dream right?

It would have to screen out all the alternate names for Chicago -- Detroit, Cleveland, Beirut, Port au Prince, etc. That's a lot of coding.

Most of the people with differing viewpoints seem to be able to have meaningful interaction on this board, albeit occasionally a little acerbic. Mitch2 is pure sabotage. Very sad. Very desperate.
