Interesting. Someone really pissed off rufus so bad he finally lost it...either that or the reality of becoming homeless in Chicago is finally hitting home. He's so desperate he brought his wimpy friends here. You know for sure that Chicago is so boring and dead...even Chicagoans spend their precious time before the holidays in a NYC board bashing and sounding awfully jealous. Sounds like these people have no better things to do with their pathetic lives in Chicago. You cannot dispute this: Chicago is a CRIME-RIDDEN, FILTHY, MISERABLE city...and misery loves company.

Rufus, these neighborhoods look nicer in person than they do on google street view.

buster2056, i live here and go to soho often. It does not look nice by any means, unless you think buildings infested with grafitti and street vendors, is aesthetically appealing.

If you guys do anything other than grin when rufus makes an over-the-top post about Chicago >> NYC then you are taking yourself and this board way to seriously. It's your reaction to him (on every post) that makes it so goddamn funny.

Just because people don't constantly follow you, doofus, you've already been exposed as someone who either lives in Chicago or some other hick town a MILLION times. Stop this charade! You just sound more pathetic, bitter and jealous with every post. Ugh!

If you read rufus' posts he clearly has recently lived in or currently lives in NYC. There are far too many details that a tourist wouldn't know. He's one of the more knowledgeable contributers on the board. Your value is questionable.

I love responding to rufus - he makes it so easy. It's kind of a sick satisfaction, akin to pegging a snowball at an 8-year old full force...

It's amusing when you're just doing "it" half, it's not when you go full on it. And doofus is doing the full one.

I guess it depends who you are and what kind of lifestyle you are looking for. I think the UES is great in that it is safe, clean, has great restaurants that aren't too expensive, has good sunlight and a lot of parks. Also it retains its value more than some of the more up and coming areas. I like to go to the west side but would never live there. I don't understand its sudden appeal because there are a lot of shady characters walking around and it seems dirtier compared to the east side. I would never dream of moving downtown. But young trendy hipsters like the Meatpacking district and the village. I think I am not trendy enough to live downtown! I can't afford to eat at Pastis every night and I am not cool enough to hangout at the Beatrice Inn. It all depends on what you are looking for.
