Streeteasy blogger hate NYC, wish destruction

Discussion about
You defend your God awful city to me, but then post about how rents are going down, people are getting laid off and real estate prices are falling? Fools, you hate your city more than me. With all the falling rents, lower real estate transactions, less people working, there is way less taxes, revenues and other economic activity. This all leads to higher taxes to you and more crime, less city services. This affects all of you fools. So keep blogging about the destruction of your beloved city. I love it.

You guys must secretly hate your city because you rejoice and say, this is only the beginning of the layoffs. Fools. The more people out of work, the less demand for everything here. This is how the downfall begins. And you fools are so blind in your hatred or maybe jealous I don't know that you rejoice in it. Let's be happy that people are not buying real estate and that no economic activity is going on. I am happy because I hate NYC. But you guys pretend to love it. That's like the battered husband that beats his wife up but then says, it's only because I love you. Keep it up. I am loving it.

gtt... a recession is when your friend gets laid off... a depression is when you get laid off... (If you don't get that, ask me to explain, but I gotta fold laundry) That's NYC... it's a meritocracy, plain and simple.

w67thstreet, I guess your job is safe because people always have a need for maids. But for the real income producers are the ones that matter. There economic activity is being diminished and you fools are happy about that.

gtt, doesn't take much to make you happy, does it? maybe you need a pet, or a loved one, or just a friend. i know!!! you and rufus could get together, you could just nod happily at each other, finish each other's sentences, and the like.

w67thstreet, unfortunately, I do live here in Brooklyn Heights. But I hate every minute of it. It's like a prison sentence. One day I will be free.

Is gtt/rufus really this dumb?

The entire country is getting killed here. RE was a bubble, and now its popping.. and Wall Street is suffering. Noplace is immune.

But thank god I'm here. Because I couldn't stand CHicago before, and now an even worse Chicago (if that is possible)... shudder to think.

> This all leads to higher taxes to you and more crime, less city services.

Yes, it does... that would make us more like Chicago, true.

Thing is, Chicago is managing to get even worse, so its even more important to live here now.

aboutready that's actually a good idea. But you guys have the I hate NYC blog down pat. Keep it up. Keep posting and talking about and hating NYC. Feels good, doesn't it? Just remember, every job loss you guys get excited about and condo project that you proclaim doesn't sell means destruction and less money and power for your hated NYC. Keep it up. Keeping hating on your city. Treat it like the red headed step child it is.

Got it absolutely wrong, gtt. I have thought that NYC real estate has been overpriced, and unlike you I don't have a terribly high regard for the Masters of the Universe. Well, both of those issues seem to be correcting, albeit in a painful manner, and I'm feeling kind of sassy. I both love and hate New York, but I certainly haven't left. Just because a person wishes for improvement, and is willing to speak or write about it, doesn't mean that they hate where they are. That's remarkably simplistic and naive. Even midwestern in it's mindset.

But I don't get you, aboutready. You rejoice when people in high paying jobs lose their jobs here and real estate sits unsold for months. Yet, you claim to love your city? All these high income producers mean less taxes for your so called beloved city, less city workers, less cops, less money for schools, less money for streets, less money for everything. Less real estate transactions means less property tax revenues, less progress and less growth and less investment in NYC. This leads to frozen economic activity, people moving away, spending money in other places, maybe even Chicago, who knows?

All this less that you rejoice in means less for you. Less cops, firefighters, teachers, garbage men, stores because no one has any money to shop. This leads to the rotten apple that was in the 70s, when all business moved away. You really do hate NYC a lot. I do too, and I welcome you in bashing this ridiculous city. It is rotting to the core now. Keep it up.

So what you want is NYC real estate will be worth only $1. Or maybe people will have to pay you to live there because there are no jobs here, no people here, no reason to live here. Then when you can have your apartment cheap will you love your city then?

Sounds like a description of Chicago, no?

What's better than the best city in the world?
The best city in the world at 50% off....

Of course, we'll probably have to take some more of Chicago's richest moving here because they might be able to finally afford, but I'll take that...

Chicago sucked before, but not its declining even faster. NYC is going to go through some rough times, but we'll all be thanking ourselves we don't live in Chicago...

See, I don't get your streeteasy bloggers. I hate NYC for all the reasons I have listed compared to Chicago. Chicago is far cleaner, nicer, happier, more affordable and better women and food.

But you guys say you love NYC. But wish that more jobs would be lost, the value to be depreciated, people to move away so that you can afford real estate on your low paying jobs. Fine. So you want NYC to become the next Detroit or Flint, Michigan. That sounds great. And maybe Chicago will go down also but we haven't had the job losses you guys write about so maybe we'll be better. Or maybe Chicago will deteriorate to be like St. Louis and NYC like Detroit. Either way, it's a loss all around, so keep up the bad PR posts about NYC. I love it. Keep showing how many jobs are being lost, how many people are moving away, how real estate is loosing value quickly and still no one buys it, because no one is thinking of settling down here. Soon, NYC will be named New Detroit. With foreclosures and job losses and all.

> Chicago is far cleaner

The stats showing otherwise

> nicer

Reality showing otherwise.

> happier

As shown by the jealousity of its residents?

> more affordable

That makes it better?

So your yugo is better than my porsche?

> and better women and food.

We've been over this a million times... only if you define "better" as "fatter" and you only eat fried food.
