nyc10022, this is a sign of confidence in the housing market, can't you tell? they don't need offices. people are beating down their doors looking to pay as much as possible for an apartment. people will find them wherever they are.

Yes, they realized they could sell the space to 100 irish carpenters for 10 mil per square foot.

These firms have had very little cash coming in for the past year, especially the last 6 months, so they had no choice to save cash. I would imagine we will see similar consolidation moves by the other large firms. Didn't Elliman or Halstead close an office or two earlier this week?

WIth the internet advancing in real estate, I am not sure why any firm needs more than 2 offices. Let agents work out of their house.

Yes, thats it... its "technology advancement" that is closing down these offices.

When more broker firings come out, will alpine say they're being replaced by robots?
