Adagio- Unit Owners

Just moved in and must say that the building is excellent! The 11 and a half foot ceiling heights and the $2 million plus lobby truly make it feel like a quant, spacious high-end boutique home. You certainly do not feel like just a number in the sky like those luxury condo towers that have saturated the city. Seems like the building and my unit will be an appreciating asset despite these dark times that we are all in. Construction should be fully completed in a couple of months and all the adjacent amenities should be delivered by Spring. Any other unit owners feel this way?

Why would you move into a building that isn't even yet complete and doesn't have the amenities available?

Also, how do you feel about living next to a massive housing project?

Where do you live quantum? Lincoln Square and the 10023 an incredible place to live. I am in the real estate business myself so I actually enjoy being a part of an evolving product. My unit is complete and so far no complains. Building is 95% complete overall except fot the penthouse etc.
Housing project?... It makes New York New York. Go live in Bel-Air CA if you dont want to live in a diverse melting pot of a neighborhood/city.

Not sure why you are starting two different threads. But you may also want to try the Adagio thread on wiredyork. There looks like there may be other owners there.

Why two threads??

But to repeat--NOTHING'S appreciating these days. Zip, zero, nada. You will indeed see your unit's value drop before the market eventually stabilize, guaranteed. Sorry.

But on the bright side, you'll have the benefit of living in a place you love.

So this is the new way for borkers to sell apartments? Past fake testimonials to Streeteasy?

My, how the mighty have fallen.

It does sound suspiciously like over-effusive listing copy, doesn't it? Hmm...

AdagioUnitOwner and nycstreets123 and nycwalking sound like the same person. They are (or he/she is) the only one(s) touting that building.

justinb, your harsh language and hostile tone is deeply disturbing.

I'm not condoning julia's negative post; I'm merely saying that NYC is really dirty, and I could see why people would get depressed if they live here for a while. And yes, I've been to most major cities in the world, so I'm speaking from experience.

It's a travesty that NYC is so dirty, given how much we pay in taxes. You would think we would actually get something for our money, such as clean streets and newer buildings.

julia, i recommend san francisco, chicago, and boston.

I'm curious as to how long ago AUO purchased his/her unit? If it was several months ago, the property's already lost considerable value. So how he considers it an "appreciating" asset is completely beyond me.

modern, I am not a broker ; but I do work in the industry and have a keen understanding for quality product in a great physical location like the Adagio. As far as appreciating.. good luck putting your cash (that is if you even have any) into a quality investment. Although a condo is a relatively illiquid asset (especially in this market) I feel very comfortable with this home (first) and investment (second).
Happy house/apt/condo hunting to all...
