Discussion about
The mortgage brokers are getting their comeuppance. They put guns to the heads of every single real estate appraiser. Show me an appraiser who did not bring in "the number" requested by the brokers, and I will show you a starving appraiser, or an appraiser who made a career change. Good riddance!

pretty kitty -- why didn't you attach the article? A thank you to 407PAS was in order... Not a snide remark about finding the article. Massengil disposable...

I didn't know how to take prettykitty's response, tone of voice is almost impossible to convey in these posts. I guess it could be snide, exasperated, bemused, cynical, humorous, I'm not sure....

Anyway, I also posted that article on another thread but prettykitty raised an interesting point about the appraisers being run out of business if they didn't come up with the correct number for the mortgage broker. I guess I knew this sort of thing went on but I have never used a mortgage broker on any of my deals, so that conflict of interest didn't immediately spring to mind. Of course, the mortgage broker association is crying big crocodile tears about getting cut out of some of the deals.
