There are many I would recommend for specific situations. There isn't anyone I would recommend unconditionally, regardless of your particular needs.

Neighborhood? Price range? Condo? Coop? Townhouse? Degree of urgency?

you need someone that has been around at least 20 years... has experienced the real estate downturn of the early 90's...and is still in business - that broker can help you buy or sell like a real pro

I would seek out a senior broker who knows you, and, depending their availability, would likely recommend a capable and suitable broker for you.

I do have one who I think is great! She is honest, hardworking, and a pleasure to spend time with. She does not put a lot of pressure on me. She knows we are looking for "the one"; unfortunately we haven't found it yet. She is realistic about prices and what is going on in the market. Her name is Polly Chang and she works for Elliman.
