Discussion about
what do you all think of this building?
The Pawson apartments? I love his work but my pockets are not deep enough to afford one of his apartments.
Look here for more information on Pawson's work:

I almost got a chance to tour one of the apartments, from some agent who had shown us a much cheaper place, but the guy never called me back. I know quite a bit about Pawson's work and like what he has done with his home in London and in a monastery in the Czech Republic. Pawson is a famous minimalist architect.
hmmm. I have a unit in there available for WAY less than any of the others... Dare I ask what your budget is?
thx
RG
AgentRachel,
I know that place is out of my league, but it is sweet of you to ask. ;-) Read up a little on Pawson's work and then you can dazzle a buyer with your knowledge. Good luck. I love the way Pawson put in those huge windows to bring the park view into the apartment. I walk by that building quite a bit and dream.
me too :)
Non-starter. It's a land lease. Won't touch something like that unless I was worth 100m+.
I wonder if being part of the hotel might mitigate some of the issues related to it being a land lease? I have no idea. These apartments are expensive, of course. I have always chuckled over the notion of a $10-15 million dollar minimalist apartment, but I love the clean lines and the perfection of Pawson's rooms.
The only Pawson designed object I can afford is a small bowl, which should show up next week, from my friends at Willer (http://www.willer.co.uk/) in London. The bowl is half of a perfect sphere, double-skinned, and sand(?) filled. It is neat because it balances at any angle.
You will find it here, if you click to the third picture:

Liar.
How many sqr ft?
In real life square ft...not bizarro world
After all the drama with the sf, I really don't want to say upperwest. I can say that it is 3 beds/3.5 bath. I can also send you a floor plan if you like.
thx
Rachel
drama? no
lying? yes
Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance.[1] The term comes from a Greek word meaning "action" (Classical Greek: δράμα, dráma), which is derived from "to do"
A lie (also called prevarication), is a type of deception in the form of an untruthful statement, especially with the intention to deceive others, often with the further intention to maintain a secret or reputation, protect someone's feelings or to avoid a punishment. To lie is to state something that one knows to be false or that one has not reasonably ascertained to be true with the intention that it be taken for the truth by oneself or someone else. A liar is a person who is lying, who has previously lied, or who tends by nature to lie repeatedly.
Sqr footage is usually easy to figure out with the floor plan (assuming the dimensions are relatively accurate.)
I was good at math back in the day, english was my rough subject...
agent rachel's version of measurements: "wow, that's huge! that's enormous. that's sick!"
SE is beginning to look like Agent Rachel's personal site. Not interested.
HI Mimi....
"square footage!... we don't need no stinking square footages..."
Columbiacountry...remind me not to tussle w/ u :)
Hi West67. I mentioned you in yet another thread created by AR a couple of days ago, about what do sideliners want. We ended up answering in rhyme, and I'm proud of mine, considering english is my second language... The thread went by very fast, so I decided to post my answer here, sorry if anybody here read it already...

The broker asked, so we must speak
and let her know what makes us tick
never above one twenty four
sunny and bright, man at the door
a place with charm and with a flow
just the right place to rest the soul
A friendly neighbor one flight down
who will not mind some laughs and sound
and I'll demand a great discount
like the stock market, same amount
The day will come, and until then
I'll check this site from 9 to 10
learning from Steve (jhx) or Alanhart
(who helped me not to throw the dart)
West 81st, UD, and others
that had become my RE brothers
And like myself there are some more
but we are not knocking at your door
Times are'a'changing for your trade
and we are staying far away
we'll wait in place till they are ready
to cut their prices like Crazy Eddie
