Discussion about
Does anyone know why price history is only available back to 2004? i even searched on Acris, but the actual sales prices are not shown after 2004. Thanks
SE gets the data from ACRIS, which drives everything. ACRIS not having data before 2004 probably has to do with data-entry/-conversion budget, how much data was already available in their internal tax databases, etc.
If it's a condo and a pre-2004 sale, pull up the deed. You'll probably find the NYS RE Transfer Tax amount written on an accompanying form. That's been 0.4% of the sale amount since at least 1990.
It seems like that should work, but for some odd reason, ACRIS doesnt list deeds online, prior to 2004!
Any other ideas?
Thanks again
There are books, you might find in the 42 st library that have all prices for the most recent sales of buildings and condos...
marcs, sure it does, for condos and land. See block 1223, lot 1040, for example, for an old condo unit. The $390 tax is noted in a couple of places, so price was $97,500.
That was the 1986 deed.
Interesting NWT - Ill try a few more buildings. Thanks again.
Remember, we're talking condo units, not co-ops. Nothing for co-op apartments pre-2004 except UCCx forms, which're good for nothing except finding out number of shares.
ahah that explains it. bummer! and thanks for the info.
