Discussion about
What should I do - I have an illegal washer/dryer in my coop and I am refinancing. Should I disclose that it is not permitted to the appraiser and ask him not to include it in the report?

Yes, it is included in the appraisal report in the section under appliances. I would be upfront about it the appraiser and explain your situation to him/her. I think you might be in the clear if the co-op doesn't need a copy of the appraisal but they usually do.

Wait, so let's get this straight--you've willfully ignored the building's regulations, and now you want a professional to lie to cover it up. Hows about sucking it up and getting rid of the illegal appliances? They shouldn't be there in the first place.

Use decoupage to disguise them.

remove it. if it's not installed, it technically is not part of the apt.

Hey, how old is your building & have you ever caused suds to back up?

I'm usually the black sheep on Streeteasy about having a washer/dryer no matter what, and all the brainless coop sheep yell "blah blah blah suds blah blah blah selfish" ... I've never actually heard of someone's washer causing suds to back up.
