When should I start looking?

Are you renting or buying?

Either way, now is a good time to begin your research. If you're planning on renting, you won't find many listings this far in advance, but you'll get an idea of what's out there. That way you'll be ready to pounce when the right place comes along at the right price.

If you're buying (which I wouldn't recommend without renting first), you should be in contract, well, now. No less than 90 days before your intended move-in date. Banks are moving very slowly.
