Discussion about
Their location in Chevy Chase, MD closed as well. And the prices did not seem any different.
High-end? Are you kidding? That stuff's the tackiest ever. Good riddance.
"Goodfellas"? "Married to the Mob"?
West81st, my thoughts exactly. Do you remember the very colorful sliding entertainment center Karen Hill shows off in Goodfellas? I could swear I saw it there. LOL!
My two typical comments to wifey after viewing an apt we don't like are, too 70's, or too MV.
I used to live near this place. I never saw anyone buy anything. it was mostly empty.
And this was in the boom years.
Their stuff was SO ugly. Apparently there weren't enough rappers on the UES to buy this stuff.
I happen to be at the St. Vincent's emergency room over the weekend (long story). The furnishings and wall coverings (bamboo) in "Fast Track" waiting room were donated by Maurice Villency. Tacky and cheap. Was actually falling apart. On the other hand, some of their pieces have potential on their own - more than one would be overkill. The closing is a sign of the times.
