The Beach House Rockaway - Maintainence Issues

Hi, I recently moved into The Beach House and although I'm pleased with my neighbors I do have to say the construction / maintainence of the building needs a lot of improvement. In the past month or so since I moved into my apartment I (or my surrounding neighbors) have had issues with no cold water coming out of my shower faucet, horribly low water pressure, and the constant false smoke alarm! Other than that I've heard people complain about the dirty carpets, the algae growing on the wall in the courtyard, and the latest, the damage done to the exterior of the building by the recent storms. To make matters worst the building maintainence is not very responsive and things take a while to get fixed. My advise if you're going to buy here, GET AN EXCELLENT home inspector, hold some money in escrow, and make sure everything gets addressed BEFORE you move into the building. Also, when you do move in, speak to you neighbors to learn the latest issues and have them addressed ASAP. [less]
