A friend of mine used to live in this apartment and I've heard all the stories first hand. Even though the apartment is large and in a great area, the landlord ("slumlord") does not upkeep the building/apartment. They are slow to respond to maintenance requests, repairs and overall pretty disrespectful of their tenants.
