Raising a family in a one-bedroom

Is anyone here raising a family in a 1-bedroom? My wife and I are trying to save some money so we are moving from a 2-br to a very large 1-br. We have a 1 year old but wonder how long we can make it work before he may need his own room. The bedroom is large enough to put a queen bed and his crib in, so we'd get room dividers. Any relevant experiences would be appreciated.
