Need advice on Appliance Warranty with New Condo

I recently bought a unit with brand new appliances in a new building. When signing the contract as I was told that the appliance comes with 2 years manufacture warranty as I was the first owner and they were brand new appliances. After moving in, the refrigerator became faulty and I called up the manufacturer for servicing. They told me the warranty has expired as it has been serviced in 2008, and the sponsor might have move the refrigerator from one unit to this one. On the contract there wasn't a written line stating the manufacturer's warranty come with the appliances, but everyone I talked to said I'm entitled to the 2 years warranty. The sponsor is not responding to any of my emails, and it's costing me $800 to repair. What can I do now? Legally can I ask them to compensate?
