the building is not located in hudson heights, rather, washington heights just two blocks shy of Dyckman St which begins the Inwood section of upper manhattan. During the 1930's,1940's,1950's through to early 1960's,the neighborhood was pristine with old world charm. The true reality is that times have changed and the innocence of that bygone era is lost forever. Structurally, the building has weaknesses as the interior apartment walls and floors are thin making it quite the opposite of soundproof. Given the fact that the uptown A train passes underneath and that Broadway Buses run parallel to the building,it's not the quietest of venues. You won't find any whole foods, trader joe's or fairway markets around, rather,a plethora of latin food markets Ft Tryon is by no means Central Park but the Cloisters museum isn't far away. Good access to the A train and #1 lines ,highways and escape routes make the area strategically well located. A visit here is a must but Riverdale section of NW Bronx is way more aesthetically appealing with commensurate prices to match. [less]
