Discussion about 400 East 52nd Street #17A
We are looking for two month furnished rental in the Beekman area from August 15th to October 15th while in NYC to purchase apartment. Our rental budget is $,7500 for the two months, please advise if this apartment at 400 E 52nd could to a fit. Thanks, Pete

It's a co-op, so getting approval and going through the rigamarole for only two months probably wouldn't be worth it to the owner.

Dig around and you'll come up with furnished rentals specifically for the short-term market.

Highly doubtful that the co-op board would even consider such a proposal. What about Craigslist for short term sublets. You might also try HomeAway.com; they might have something. Good luck!

Hi halper,
Our family have just booked a month long vacation that starts (exactly!) on Aug 15th. If you're willing to make arrangement for the second month, maybe you can take our place from Aug 15th to mid-Sept? It's a 1750 sf 2bd downtown loft, conveniently located & stylishly decorated. Price can be very flexible. We just want to entrust our home to some serious people. If interested, pls post an email adress to which I can send you info & pix.

The Marmmara at 94th and Second is an apartment hotel. Not in the Beekman area - two miles north -
but has hundreds of short0term rental units.

Halper: Have you looked at corporate housing options such as Oakwood? They have several around the city (no idea what they charge though)

Somehow I think immediately after singing the sublease halper would become a cousin of the owner.
