Boston-based GID Investment Advisers LLC with equity partner CalPERS has acquired two trophy towers in New York's Upper West Side, The Ashley and The Aldyn, from a joint venture including Carlyle Investment Management LLC, RREEF America, and Extell Development Company. GID has taken 209 residential units, retail space and a garage at the Ashley, located at 400 W. 63rd St., and 136 residential units and retail space in The Aldyn, at 60 Riverside Blvd., in Manhattan's Columbus Circle submarket. The Aldyn was built as a condo building in 2010 but saw almost half the units unsold and converted to rentals.
