Discussion about
What are the other good NYC real estate discussion websites? Is StreetEasy the best?
no SE is not the best. If you are a serious buyer, and want serious answers, try trulia.com
less cutthroat and more professional tone. this website is more for people that aren't active buyers, just "trolls". those that just like to pick fights with each other.
trulia.com you can post questions and get honest unbiased answers.
they screen emails more carefully and have higher security features.
Trulia totally sucks. Only brokers convincing you to buy. Infantile questions, bland answers. Also, I wrote something like what the hell or something and they deleted it because it was offensive language. It´s RE kindergarden.
You can also try Propery Shark. They recently added forums, but I have not used them yet. Curbed is also good, but it is a blog, not a message bord like SE.
Words to live by: "Infantile questions, bland answers." !!!
What about this response in Trulia: ¨It is a good practice to write down what you really want from a realtor and be specific on your list¨
Don't forget! Be specific! Revise your list every night! Moron kindergarden teacher broker....
from your posts you are more vulgar than most people, and probably not to the professional level required on trulia.com
then stay on here, where playground bullies are still entertained. trulia is not for you. fine. get over it. but it is an alternative to this site, which is what the thread was started about.
¨ not to the professional level required on trulia.com¨
Since when does people need any professional level to post in any forum? Your post proves that everyone posting there is a broker, including you, and that they tend to speak like kindergarden techars, like u!
Trulia has absolutely no relevance in Manhattan, exit2 is on another planet.
Speaking of kindergarten (not kindergarden), you may want to revisit the big K. Your grammar is terrible. Like I said, not to a professional level.
"Since when does people" - people is plural, so use DO not DOES.
But like I said, get over it. It's not for you. It's more professional than streeteasy. And teachers is spelled with two (2) A's, not just one.
teachers is spelled with two A's? How is that?
Ah, just what I need, a teacher! And a mean little broker teacher! One day you might need to sell an apt to a foreigner like me, pal, so don't get so hooked on language. My mistakes are less of a problem for this world than your patronizing tone. Get over it, Trulia doesn't exist and you are a crazy little broker in the midwest. Probably you live with Rufus.
sorry, my fault. spelled with an A. mimi thinks it's spelled like it's pronounced, 'techars'
obviously I know how to spell it, I just did. teachers.
from mimi's spelling and grammar, she is not educated. guessing a GED at the highest.
Unless you are looking to have open heart surgery, I cannot assist you. But I can recommend some decent ESL classes for you.
And last I checked, trulia.com does exist. Sorry to break it to you.
English is Mimi's second (possibly third?) language, as she's implied. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a doctoral degree.
Trulia, a national site, is a great place to get advice about tract houses in Ohio.
¨ in trulia.com you can post questions and get honest unbiased answers.¨
I guess our little doctor-teacher-broker has a side job at Trulia. Who else would write anything like 'honest unbiased answers' when talking about an open RE forum?
Okay kids, break it up.
As a broker with a kindergardener, you'd think I was a big fan of trulia. But I think it's not specific enough to NYC real estate, with all its absurdities, and therefore less helpful overall. Plus it's full of weird broker types. I think if you were to split the search engines into camps, propertyshark and streeteasy are more consumer-oriented, and trulia seems to serve the broker side. There's great info on all of them, as well as craigslist and the nytimes, so it helps to poke around.
For New York blogs/comment boards, there's curbed.com, brownstoner.com (brooklyn) - just check their comments to get a sense of who is reading them. And they have links to other blogs, etc. Search neighborhood name + "blog" and you'll get some info there too. In Brooklyn, there's the gowanuslounge, and a propsect-lefferts gardens blog, and so on.
But Streeteasy is a great place to get a straight answer, plus some nasty flavor. And its search engine is my favorite.
I'm here for the nasty flavor
http://www.nycondoblog.com/
i checked it maybe twice but i found it useful.
streeteasy used to be a great website...
It's no contest. StreetEasy is the best for sparking lively conversation, and, on occasion, providing excellent information. With a good mix of buyers, sellers, Real Estate types, Real Estate type haters, neighborhood authorities and clowns, this is the place to be.
a great resource is wirednewyork. a lot of specific information about buildings, and they make a real effort to keep threads organized by topic (there's some unavoidable overlap, obviously). curbed has some interesting info, but as for the comments, well, judge yourself.
where's exit2
a second vote for wirednewyork.com, which can be a wonderful resource. Traffic is less active, but the core group of posters are very knowledgeable about buildings.
