Buy or rent?

I live in Astoria. My rent is $1080 for a decent one bedroom. I checked recently a very nice one bedroom (670 sf) + a large storage place in a new development in Astoria. 15 years tax abatement; maintenance $440. Price: $410,000. While I really like this place and I plan to stay in NY for at least 10 years, I wonder it it is not better to continue renting and to invest money in the stock market for instance. Any advices would be more than welcome!
