Quick question. When something is listed as #RES what does that mean? Thanks
I believe it means RESIDENTIAL sale..as in, the unit # is not disclosed in the recording on ACRIS. Im encountering this issue a lot while building phase 2 of urbandigs.com analytics. Its uber Annoying.
I always see it when the apartment is part of a cond-op, when SE is getting bad data from the city.
For co-ops, the city keeps track of unit numbers within block x, lot y.
For condos, the city does the same thing. A group of lot numbers each having a unit ID like COMM1,5A,11C.
For cond-ops -- a co-op that owns a condo unit -- the city falls flat and records the group of lot numbers, each having a unit ID: lot 1001, unit COMM1; lot 1002, unit COMM2; lot 1003, unit RES.
The city's data model didn't/doesn't take the further step of breaking the co-op's lot 1003 into unit IDs. All get/got the RES ID.
Or so it appears.
Good answers above from Urbandigs and NWT. As NWT mentioned, the problem is rampant among condops. There are also some coops that have chronic problems with reporting, like 255 West 84th. Something weird happened to the lot number for the residential units (1232/7501) that gives the building the same issues with resale reporting as a condop, although I don't think it is one.
That's a weird one. The city uses 75xx lot numbers to track whole-building assessments of condos, and probably other things too.
I want a second job down at DoF, long enough to pry around and try unravelling all this stuff.
I FSBO'ed my coop, and it appeared as a RES
