Discussion about
Has anyone seen this this development yet? There are only 3 one bedroom units facing the water front but being blocked partially by the building in between the parks in front. All two bedroom with unobstructed views starts from 900k on the 2nd floor, is it worth to purchase here for investment purpose or the Edge? isn't two bedroom harder to sell, why are sellers still benefit them more than one bedroom buyers? thanks
nyccondo- Do you live in a bubble? I say go for it, buy all 3 and flip them next year. It still amazes me how clueless people are of events going on around them. And I wonder how we are left with OBAMA and MCCain. God I hope your fishing for attention.
dco, obviously this guy is a broker. 111 Kent. I suggest you hire your own surveyor to check for floors being plumb and normal before the facade goes up. I'm not saying. I'm just saying.
sorry, i'm not a broker. i'm a newbie.
the 2 bedrooms with the views interests me more but my budget are only for 1 bedroom, unfortunately all the 1 bedrooms are at the corner with blocked views. this is why i need opinions.
Ummm....I know people involved with both the Edge and 111 Kent. I'm not a construction guy. But I know people who tell me what they think. I'm not saying I have facts. I'm just saying...plumb...normal...check yourself before you wreck yourself.

I am not so clear what you mean by plumb and normal, sorry, can you please explain.
Thats is why you should hire a surveyor. George Washington was a surveyor. I had he good fortune to be around lots of really weird and picky nerds and geeks and dorks during my formative years. Whose parents were big shots in construction. If you can't tell plum from plumb. Please seek help.
As the Dutch say, turn your money over twice before you spend it.
i'm thoroughly confused by 80s man myself but i'm fairly certain the point he's getting at is think twice before spending almost $1m in a burgeoning area (williamsburg - even though the edge is technically in Greenpoint) for anything, let alone new construction near abandoned warehouses.
That said, I have toured the Edge and liked the amenities, foorplans, unobstructed views (in some units). It's just too pricey for Brooklyn. wait till they come down.

thanks for your your honest opinion, greatly appreciated!!!
however, i'm concered even when the price dropped, the better units are already taken.
but i do agree spending almost $1m in williamsburg is very risky.
80sMan seems to be saying the quality of the construction is dubious. Plumbs are used to make sure walls are straight. I live down the street and with all the traffic on Kent these days, I hope they use good sound-proofing.
nyccondo: some people who put money down during construction won't have the money to close so don't worry about getting teh slim pickings. there is alot of inventory in the burg.
